In order to stay in shape this winter and be prepared to return to on-water rowing this spring, we need to exercise regularly. The U.S. governmental exercise guidelines for substantial health benefits in adults recommend 150 minutes to 300 minutes of aerobic activity per week. This encompasses activities like erging, cycling, running, skiing, or vigorous walking that raise the heart rate. In addition, adults should engage in muscle-strengthening activities (weight lift, core exercise) 2 or more days a week.
