We’re just days away from the Poughkeepsie Regatta! On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Hudson River Rowing Association and Mid Hudson Rowing Association will co-host a 3-mile rowing race on the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie.
This event is named after the legendary Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Regatta, which was held on this very stretch of river from 1895 to 1949. The Poughkeepsie Regatta brings racing back to the historic championship course, and we couldn’t be more excited. Want to see what it looked like back in the day? Visit Hudson River Rowing Association or explore the Marist Archives for some incredible historic photos.
Racing kicks off at 7:30 AM and wraps up around 10:30 AM. Crews will start at the Culinary Institute of America’s main campus in Hyde Park and finish under the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie. The Walkway Over the Hudson offers a spectacular view of the entire 3-mile course — just 2.5 miles from the start line — making it a perfect spot for spectators.
A huge thank-you goes out to our sponsors, Smith Brothers Pizza, Adams Fairacre Farms, and Prime Print Shop, for helping make this event possible. The support of our local community is what keeps this tradition alive.
Whether you’re racing, cheering on your crew, or just coming to enjoy the view, we can’t wait to see you next Saturday. The forecast is looking great, so let’s all hope for clear skies, calm water, and no fog!
