MHRA Yard Sale in the Works!

From the Yard Sale Committee (Anne Gardon, Katie Rivera, Gail Lahm and Linda Rapp):

We are delighted to announce that MHRA is having a YARD SALE this summer!  Please consider this your notice to begin to dig up treasures you can donate to this major fundraiser for our club. Yes, your clutter is someone’s else’s treasure!

Mark your calendars now:

When: Saturday, August 2nd, 9:00 am  – 1:00 pm  

Where: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 55 Wilbur Ave., Poughkeepsie

We will send you periodic updates and, as we get closer, there will be opportunities to volunteer on the day of the event.

In the meantime, you will find some guidelines on what to donate below.

MHRC DONATION GUIDELINES

This is a fundraiser, so we want to bring stuff that will help raise money for our club.  In previous years, our yard sale has had a reputation for having “good stuff” because our items are always clean, in working order, and desirable.  Let’s keep that tradition going.

• Things that sell well:  Tools, toys, small furniture, decorative items, lamps, kitchen stuff, small appliances, electronics, sporting goods, dishes/serving trays & utensils, holiday decorations, household items and some craft items.
• Clothing does not sell well unless it’s baby clothes in very good condition.
• No mattresses please – they cannot be sold and cost money to dispose of.
• Please price your items before bringing them to the yard sale (painters tape or masking tape with a sharpie marker works well).
• Please be prepared to pick up any unsold items at the end of the day.  Anything not picked up will be donated or discarded.
