Sculling Lessons & Clinics

MHRA offers a range of learning and training opportunities for the novice to advanced sculler. This includes a sculling clinic for beginners and intermediate scullers, weekly advanced lessons, and private lessons. 

2025 CLINIC

For beginning and intermediate scullers
Our popular sculling clinic is led by Head Coach Bill Davies, a US Rowing Level II coach and competitive rower with over 40 years of sweep and sculling experience. Our sculling clinic is offered to those who can swim and have some prior sweep rowing experience.

2025 Sculling Clinic Schedule
Tuesday, June 17 – Thursday, June 26 (6 classes)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 – 7:00 am
Saturday and Sunday 6:15 – 8:00 am

Registration opens: 
MHRA annual members April 1, 2025; All Others May 1, 2025

ADVANCED LESSONS

Advanced drills and workouts for experienced scullers. 
Advanced classes will be in July and August with dates to be determined. Lessons are available to MHRA members ($30/lesson) and to non-MHRA members ($40/lesson, depending on availability). Please contact Bill Davies if you are interested.

The club provides sculling boats to share. Private boat owners can rent private boat racks through the Hudson River Rowing Association.
