Although we are off the river for the winter season, we are staying in shape with land workouts and dreaming about returning to the water in April.  Contact us to learn about our rowing programs and the fun we have on and off the Hudson River.

When the docks come out, the season is officially, officially over. Thanks to @hudsonriverrowing for managing this operation!

A portion of our “missing” goose chain was found, partially covered with zebra mussels after only a few months in the water.

Not ideal rowing weather! The Mighty Hudson had some mighty white caps yesterday. Hopefully we will see you on the ergs and in the tank for winter workouts starting next month! #hudsonriver #midhudsonrowingassociation
Last row of the season! Perfect morning out on the water with this happy crew! Can’t believe it’s over, wasn’t April just yesterday? #midhudsonrowingassociation #rowing #hudsonriver

The Walkway Over the Hudson, formerly the Poughkeepsie Bridge, spans the Hudson River, connecting Poughkeepsie and Highland, NY. Originally built as a double-track railroad bridge in 1889, it was damaged by fire in 1974 and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2009, it was beautifully transformed into a pedestrian walkway, now part of the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. The POK Regatta starts at the Culinary Institute of America’s campus in Hyde Park and finishes under the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

You can catch the races tomorrow from the Walkway Over the Hudson, just 2.5 miles from the start!

“Rough waters on the Hudson River course sometimes trouble the oarsmen”. What rower hasn’t seen rough waters on our river? The Hudson’s powerful downstream current, shifting tides, and swirling winds often create unpredictable conditions, making rowing quite a challenge! Waves sometimes strike our boats from all sides. The challenges of rowing on the Hudson are just part of what makes it so rewarding, and its beauty more than compensates for the difficulties.
